American Roots Music

Roots music refers to an important collection of musical forms that provides a window into the cultural identities of Americans throughout each generation. From blues to bluegrass and cajun to country, the styles of roots music are as diverse as the people who created them. Roots Music performed by today's artists preserves these cultural identities into the next generation by bringing new life and vitality into the music. The continued popularity of roots music into the 21st century is a testimony of its significance to the identity of the American culture.
